Bulldog Business Partnership Receives Enthusiastic Response

On Friday, January 21st, over twenty representatives of local businesses attended the unveiling of the Bulldog Business Partnership, an innovative program created by JC Power. Designed to create a mutually beneficial relationship between the Garfield Heights City Schools and the local business community, the partnership offers local businesses the opportunity to make a financial contribution which helps sponsor an academic program, event, or contest. In return, participating businesses will receive regular recognition for their sponsorships through school events and communications, including Open Line, the district newsletter, as well as a featured link on the newly designed Garfield Heights City Schools web site. Press coverage of partnership events and success stories will be promoted also.

The presentation began with a short overview of the Bulldog Business Partnership by Superintendent Michael W. Beck. The attendees were then given a tour of several district buildings by principals of the respective schools, and were given an opportunity to engage with students and staff. Following the buildings tour, a light lunch was provided, during which the attendees participated in an interactive discussion with Michael Beck. The participants not only praised the Bulldog Business Partnership, but were enthusiastic concerning the professionalism and accomplishments of the school district’s staff and students. At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants agreed to meet with school district officials again in March to discuss future sponsorship opportunities. With great anticipation and excitement, JC Power looks forward to promoting the future success of the Bulldog Business Partnership.

Founded in 1992, the mission of the Association of Mayor’s Court Clerks of Ohio includes continuing education for court personnel, promoting efficiency and high organizational standards, as well as fostering “unity and understanding” with other court associated organizations.  Over one-hundred individuals participated in the conference, which was held at the Embassy Suites in Dublin, OH.

The topic of JC Power’s presentation concerned how to effectively deal with the media.  Attendees were encouraged to not only understand the media, but to utilize specific strategies and prepare for common scenarios when interacting with members of the local and national media.  This proactive approach enables individuals to move beyond solely answering questions, to effectively delivering a positive message that is both clear and concise. The presentation concluded with a dynamic Q & A session in which several members of the audience shared personal experiences of dealing with the media, highlighting the importance of understanding and implementing an effective communication strategy.
